Check the product and conditions

Read the manufacturer's instructions before starting. Application tool, panel temperature, ventilation, dwell time, residue removal and curing requirements vary considerably.

You will normally need the sealant, clean applicators, several suitable microfibre cloths, good lighting and a dry, sheltered workspace. Use personal protective equipment where the safety data requires it.

Prepare the surface

Wash the vehicle thoroughly and remove bonded contamination with a method appropriate to the paint. Dry panel gaps and inspect the finish. A sealant does not hide defects; any polishing is completed and cleaned down before protection is applied.

Apply a test area first

Work on a small section using the specified quantity. Remove or level residue exactly when instructed, then inspect the panel under clear light before continuing.

More product does not create better protection. Thick or uneven application can leave smears and interfere with curing.

Allow it to cure

Keep the vehicle away from moisture, detergents or use for the stated curing period. Do not polish over the newly applied sealant unless the product instructions explicitly call for a finishing step.

Glass requires a dedicated, compatible product and careful visibility checks. If the paint needs correction or the coating has demanding application conditions, professional preparation is the safer route.
