PTFE is a polymer with very low surface friction and high chemical resistance.
PTFE is promoted or used in some protection and care formulas. The specific formula, application and demonstrated product performance are what matter.
Depending on the formula, it can support surface smoothness and dirt repellency. The ingredient alone does not establish a universal protection level.
PTFE as a material has high temperature resistance. That does not automatically mean every vehicle-care product containing PTFE has the same property or suitability.
Product design, preparation, application, use and maintenance determine real durability. A universal number of months or years would not be reliable.
