Carnauba is a natural wax from the leaves of the Brazilian carnauba palm and is used in vehicle waxes for gloss and water repellency.
It is mainly used for warm, deep gloss and hydrophobic protection, particularly when visual finish is the priority.
Durability depends on formula, preparation, use, parking, washing and maintenance. A fixed number of weeks is therefore not reliable for every product and vehicle.
Carnauba is one of the harder natural waxes. Vehicle waxes are blended formulas, however, and their properties do not follow from the carnauba content alone.
Some systems allow another thin application after the specified flash or curing time. Whether this is useful depends on the product.
